Khaberni - The Abu Dhabi government launched the self-government feature within the "Tam" platform, the first digital government employee powered by artificial intelligence that automatically manages recurring tasks such as renewing licenses and paying bills. The feature aims to improve services and make them more proactive and smooth, providing more than 1100 government and private services through a unified platform, as part of the digital transformation strategy 2025-2027.
The Abu Dhabi government in the UAE revealed on Tuesday the world's first self-government feature, which automatically manages recurring tasks, including license renewals, utility bill payments, and routine medical appointments.
According to the Emirates News Agency "WAM", the feature operates without hassle or waiting for procedures from the user, allowing community members the time to perform personal tasks they prefer without thinking about routine services.
This comes in conjunction with the launch of the latest version of the unified Abu Dhabi government services platform "Tam" on the sidelines of the GITEX Global 2025 exhibition.
Digital Government Employee
The launch of the self-government feature within the "Tam" platform contributes to improving service levels, as it represents a pivotal achievement in Abu Dhabi's journey to become the first government worldwide fully reliant on artificial intelligence, thereby representing the next generation of smart integrated services.
The self-government can manage recurring services automatically, allowing users to specify their interests and customize automation, giving them confidence in the execution of services smoothly and securely.
This feature also extends the capabilities of the smart assistant "Tam" powered by artificial intelligence, facilitating the smooth and simplified provisioning of more than 1100 government and private services through a unified digital platform.
Smart Assistant "Tam"
The smart assistant "Tam" provides smart and proactive support, interacting and responding to interests and changes, as it can complete many services on behalf of users, improving customization and proactive nature of each user journey.
Ahmed Tamim Hisham Al-Khattab, head of the Government Empowerment Department in Abu Dhabi, said that the launch of the self-government feature within the “Tam” platform represents a qualitative shift in the UAE’s journey towards the government of the future; as it redefines the government's impact on individuals' lives, noting that the Abu Dhabi government is not only reactionary but has become a smart partner for individuals, giving priority to their needs, and being there during the most crucial times.
He added that Abu Dhabi presents to the world a model of proactive digital government, capable of proactively and completely handling transactions, by presenting the first digital government employee powered by artificial intelligence.
The "Tam" platform can now be experienced as a proactive companion, where artificial intelligence manages complete user journeys across the overall platform, with the launch of new features in addition to the self-government.
The vision of artificial intelligence and smart guidance simplifies complex transactions, with visual and voice guidance for all steps and instant document imaging, ensuring error-free application submissions, while translation and voice activation services ensure comprehensive and accessible communication, allowing hands-free browsing in both Arabic and English.
Through personal dashboards, the platform reminds users of upcoming tasks, deadlines, and information that aligns with their needs and priorities.
All these features transform transactions, which used to take hours, into smooth experiences that can be completed in moments.
"Redefining the Role of Government"
Dr. Mohammed Al-Askar, Director General of "Tam" at the Government Empowerment Department, explained that the new features within the platform redefine the government's role in daily life, as it shifts the focus from individual transactions to smart journeys that adapt to the needs of each individual, pointing out that the digital government employee powered by artificial intelligence allows individuals to reclaim their time and ensure their comfort.
The "Tam" platform goes beyond automation, as it offers users new ways to communicate with the government in a more humane, available, and present manner, and has expanded the scope of "Tam Spaces" to include 3 new platforms: Family, Mobility, and Our Health.
These spaces are designed around important times and daily needs, organizing essential services based on real experiences instead of governmental mechanisms, from managing medical records and school updates to planning mobility and interacting with local communities.
"Tam" services are expected to be launched through hologram units across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, with the aim of reimagining direct interaction through mobile units allowing citizens, residents, immediate and direct contact with government employees.
Through hologram technology, employees will be able to provide personal direct support in both Arabic and English instantly, in a manner that maintains the reliability of human interaction, alongside the speed and ease of digital access, in addition, the new "Tam for You" service will be launched, allowing citizens, residents, visitors, and companies to collaborate with the platform to suggest services, vote on them, and design them to align with society's general goals in the UAE.
1100 services
Said Al Mulla, General Manager at the Government Empowerment Department, said that the improvements to the platform "focus on bringing the government closer to everyday life, as our efforts are based on providing effortless government services that make life simpler and more connected to the community we serve, enhancing our confidence in the presence of permanent proactive support, and that the government considers the daily needs of individuals, and the services adapt to the most important moments."
The "Tam" platform continues to expand its ecosystem, now integrating more than 1100 services from more than 90 partners from both the government and private sectors.
New partnerships this year include the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, Commera Company, and "Wio Bank," in addition to offering services for the first time in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Judiciary Department and Saed Company.
The new services allow users to comprehensively and directly complete transactions with private sector partners within the platform and application.
The unveiling of the self-government within the "Tam" platform as part of the latest release of the unified "Tam 4.0" platform on the sidelines of GITEX Global 2025 exhibition represents an important milestone within Abu Dhabi's digital government strategy 2025-2027.
With the announcement of the first digital government employee powered by artificial intelligence, the emirate sets a new global standard in digital government, giving individuals confidence in the smoothness and design of all transactions to fit life priorities, according to "WAM".
