Khaberni - Yarmouk Water Company started on Wednesday to conduct actual readings of all water meters in Irbid governorate, as part of its efforts to improve the accuracy of monthly billing after adopting the monthly billing system.
The company explained in a statement that due to the insufficient number of readers employed by the company to read all the meters regularly, the company has referred a tender to one of the contractors to take over the task of reading the meters alongside the company’s own readers.
It was noted that the contractor is scheduled to begin meter reading in the Jerash and Ajloun governorates starting from the first of November, as part of the company's plan to improve the quality of service provided to subscribers.
** Differences in Meter Readings
The company confirmed its interest in following up on cases where discrepancies in meter readings were recorded and is working on studying the objections submitted by citizens concerning the bills in order to rectify them and ensure the accuracy of consumption calculation.
It is noted that Yarmouk Water Company has, in recent months, relied on estimated readings of meters at a rate of 10 percent in some areas due to the expiration of the billing tender in May, which led to a shortage of collectors and the inability to read all the meters actually.
