Khaberni - A Turkish girl sparked a wide wave of anger after she posted a video during her participation with her mother in washing the body of one of the deceased, in a scene described by social media users as shocking and inappropriate.
The video spread rapidly across social platforms after the girl was seen documenting her day on her mobile phone, which included moments of the washing process of a deceased woman, before she posted it on her personal account, making her within a few hours one of the most trending names in Turkey.
As soon as the clip began to spread, a flood of angry comments ensued, accusing the girl of violating the sanctity of the dead and crossing moral boundaries, with one user writing: "Some things don't need fame, but respect," while another said: "Where is the privacy? Nothing is sacred anymore, not even death," and another sharply commented: "There's nowhere left that phone cameras haven’t reached."
Despite the overwhelming criticism, some attempted to partially justify the girl's action, considering filming such scenes might be acceptable in purely educational or religious contexts, but they emphasized that sharing them publicly is a serious breach of boundaries.
The debate quickly turned into a broader discussion about the concept of privacy and respect on social media, as many felt that the rush for views and rapid spread made some users disregard religious and humanitarian values, even in the most sacred and sensitive situations.
