Khaberni - Hittin Vocational High School has started publishing the names of students absent from school daily on the "Facebook" platform, in a move that has sparked widespread controversy.
The school publishes a photo showing attendance in each class, alongside a list of absent students.
The school principal, Jalal Salameh, during his talk to "Ein FM" radio, stated that the goal of this initiative is to inform parents in a faster and easier way, confirming that the measure has led to a significant decrease in absence rates.
He explained that the majority of parents supported this measure, and that the school has been continuing its application for about two weeks, noting changes in the acceptable absence rates over the past academic years.
On the other hand, a number of social media users have expressed their objections, considering that publishing the names violates directives and constitutes an invasion of student privacy, and that communication with parents should occur through private channels.
