Khaberni - We review the teams qualified for the 2026 World Cup in soccer, amid a historic record participation of Arab teams due to the increased number of teams in the world cup.

The qualifying rounds continue as the world prepares for the 2026 World Cup finals hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada from June 11 to July 19, 2026, in a historic edition the largest in World Cup history with the participation of 48 teams for the first time.

The most recent qualifiers (Tuesday) were the Saudi Arabia team, which qualified over Iraq after a 0-0 draw, and Qatar with a victory over the UAE 2-1, followed by Senegal and Ivory Coast at midnight.


The following are the teams that have secured their qualification to the 2026 World Cup finals, along with their best previous results in the tournament's history:

Arabs hope to repeat or surpass the achievement of the "Lions of the Atlas," who reached the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup Qatar, as the first Arab and African team to achieve this.

This division comprises 46 teams out of 48 participating teams. The play-off tournament involving six other teams will determine two spots in the World Cup.

The 2026 World Cup system
The 48 participating teams are distributed into 12 groups of 4 teams each, with the group champion and runner-up qualifying to the Round of 32 for the first time in World Cup history, in addition to the best 8 teams finishing third.

The opening match will be held on June 11, 2026, at the "Azteca" stadium in Mexico. The final is scheduled to be held on July 19, 2026, at the "MetLife Stadium" in New York.
