Khaberni - US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday, "We will disarm Hamas if the movement refuses to abandon them," indicating that this could happen by force if necessary.
Trump's statement came during a comment to journalists at the White House following a visit to the Middle East to sign a comprehensive document to stop the war in the Gaza Strip after two years of genocide.
Trump added, "If they do not abandon the weapon, we will take care of disarming it." He added, "This will happen quickly and may involve violence."
The document, signed on Monday, October 14, 2025, in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh, aimed at ending the Gaza war two years after the mass killings by the bombing of Israeli forces.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and US President Donald Trump signed the document at the opening session of the "Sharm el-Sheikh peace summit" held in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh.
The White House, on the night of Monday to Tuesday, released the comprehensive document to end the Gaza war that was signed in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh during the "Sharm el-Sheikh Peace Summit".
The document stipulates that the signatories will continue to strive for a comprehensive vision for peace, security, and shared prosperity in the region, based on the principles of mutual respect and common destiny.
The leaders of the signatory countries welcomed the progress made in establishing comprehensive and sustainable peace arrangements in the Gaza Strip, as well as the friendly and mutually beneficial relations between Israel and its neighbors in the region.
Trump had published on Monday, September 29, 2025, a 20-point plan to end the war in Gaza, which still requires the approval of the concerned parties, and specifically stipulates his chairing a committee overseeing the transitional phase in the sector.
The plan of the US President stipulates that "Israel will neither occupy Gaza nor annex it." With the International Stability Force taking control and imposing stability, Israeli forces will withdraw according to standards and a timeline agreed upon between the Israeli military, the International Stability Force, the guarantors, and the United States, aiming to make Gaza safe.
The plan also includes a clause that once all detainees are returned, Hamas members who "commit to peaceful coexistence and the abandonment of arms will be granted amnesty". Those wishing to leave Gaza will be provided a safe passage to receiving countries.
