Khaberni - A man approached a judge in the Sitapur district (India) with an unusual complaint, claiming he cannot sleep at night for fear of his wife turning into a snake.
The complainant, named Miraj from the village of Loodhasa in Mahmudabad area, shared his ordeal with the district judge, Abhishek Anand, during a session of "Samadhan Diwas" (public grievance redressal day) on the fourth of this month.
Miraj alleged that his wife, Naseemun, suffers from a mental disorder and spends her nights pretending to be a snake, making disturbing noises and frightening him. Despite his repeated pleas, he claimed, the local police had taken no action, forcing him to turn to the district administration for help.
The "Indian Express" reported that the officials present at the grievance redressal program were surprised by the unusual complaint, even as the district judge directed the police to look into the matter and take appropriate action. A police official said: "We have received a complaint and the matter is under investigation."
