Khaberni - Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, said that a child born in the year 2025 is unlikely to be smarter than artificial intelligence.

This was mentioned during his virtual participation from San Francisco in the GITEX Global 2025 events in Dubai, in a session that brought him together with Peng Xiao, CEO of the Emirati G42 group.

Speaking with a smile when asked about his famous statement, he said, "I have a child born in 2025, and I don’t think he will be smarter than artificial intelligence, but that won’t prevent him from being happy or self-fulfilled."

He added that the new generation will be born into a world where artificial intelligence is considered a natural part of everyday life, pointing out that this strange shift represents the beginning of the era of superintelligence, which will change our view of human capabilities themselves, according to a report published by "techradar" and seen by "Al Arabiya Business".

Houses designed by ChatGPT
Peng Xiao showcased the progress made by the UAE in building what he described as an "AI-native society," noting that the office of the chairman of G42 currently operates with 10 artificial intelligence agents for every one human employee.

Xiao said that some houses in the UAE were fully designed via ChatGPT using over 500 smart commands and were built in less than a year, adding: "If your house is designed by ChatGPT, and if the number of intelligent agents working for you exceeds humans, then artificial intelligence has indeed become a part of your everyday life."

Altman revealed that the new version of the GPT-5 model has begun to achieve "small but real scientific breakthroughs," asserting that scientific progress represents "the pulse of sustainable human development."

He also predicted that by the year 2026, artificial intelligence systems will be able to discover new scientific knowledge, and that robots will begin performing realistic tasks by 2027.

The conversation also touched on the "Stargate" project, a massive collaboration between "OpenAI" and "G42" to build a one-gigawatt data center in the UAE, with plans to expand to five gigawatts later.

Both parties confirmed that energy will be the basic driver for the era of artificial intelligence, with Xiao saying, "Ultimately, the cost of intelligence will equate to the cost of energy."

Altman concurred, stating, "Energy is the key... but we are doing all this because we believe that artificial intelligence is capable of changing the world for the better."

Altman concluded his talk by saying, "I believe that what we are experiencing today is the greatest scientific project in human history, and the mission that will improve people's lives more than anything else. Working on this matter is exhausting... but it's a great honor."
