Khaberni - Israeli far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir threatened on Tuesday to cut off aid supplies to the Gaza Strip unless Hamas returns the bodies of the soldiers from the sector, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that news about the remaining detainees is expected "within hours."
Ben-Gvir said in a post on (Telegram), "I call on the Prime Minister to issue a clear warning to Hamas: If you do not immediately return all the bodies of our fallen soldiers and continue to stall, we will immediately stop all aid supplies entering the Gaza Strip."
Israel also informed the United Nations that it would allow only 300 aid trucks, half of the agreed number, to enter Gaza starting Wednesday.
In a memo confirmed by the international organization, Israel informed them that it will also not allow the entry of any fuel or gas into the sector except for specific needs related to humanitarian infrastructure.
An official involved in the process of returning the bodies of the Israeli detainees said that Hamas informed the mediators of its intention to start transferring the bodies of four detainees at 10 PM local time (19:00 GMT) today, Tuesday.
This development comes at a time when regional and international efforts continue to implement the first phase of the proposed peace plan to end the ongoing war in Gaza for two years.
The Israeli occupation authorities announced earlier today that the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt will remain closed until at least Wednesday, indicating a reduction in aid flow to the sector as a means of pressuring Hamas to deliver the bodies.
