Sciences and Technology welcomes a delegation from the Syrian Ministry of Higher Education

Khaberni - The President of Jordan University of Science and Technology, Professor Dr. Khaled Al-Salem, received a delegation from the Syrian Ministry of Higher Education headed by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Syrian Arab Republic, Dr. Marwan Jamil Al-Halabi, and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting was attended by the President of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions, Dr. Zafar Al-Sarayrah, the Acting Secretary-General Shadi Musaidah, Vice Presidents and Deans, as well as a number of Syrian students studying at the university. During the visit, they discussed prospects for academic and research cooperation and ways to enhance scientific partnerships between the two brotherly countries.

The University President presented a comprehensive overview in which he reviewed the university's journey and its notable achievements in academia and research, alongside outlining its future plans aimed at developing the educational process and enhancing scientific research and community service, in line with the vision of economic modernization aiming to build a knowledge-based economy driven by innovation and excellence in education. He emphasized the university's commitment to leveraging its expertise in the fields of scientific research and academic accreditation to deepen cooperation with the Syrian Ministry of Higher Education.

Al-Salem indicated the university's full readiness to build strategic partnerships with Syrian universities and to launch joint programs and projects that serve development in both countries and achieve integration in the fields of higher education and scientific research.

On his part, the Syrian Minister expressed his pride in visiting the university, appreciating the warm reception, and lauding the progress made by the Jordan University of Science and Technology in various fields, affirming the depth of the historical relations between the two countries.

Al-Halabi also reviewed the state of higher education in Syria, explaining the ministry's efforts to overcome the challenges faced by the country, and working on developing institutional infrastructure, enhancing scientific research, and digital transformation.

Dr. Zafar Al-Sarayrah emphasized the importance of enhancing academic cooperation and exchanging expertise between the two sides, which contributes to elevating the level of higher education and achieving standards of quality and academic accreditation.
At the end of the meeting, an open dialogue took place discussing ways to develop scientific and academic partnerships.
