Khaberni - The National Cancer Institute in the United States (NCI) awarded Dr. Asem Mansour, CEO and Director General of the King Hussein Cancer Center, the Rachel Berlin Award for the year 2025, during the thirteenth annual conference on global cancer research (ASGCR), which is a prominent platform that brings together leaders and experts from around the world to discuss the latest developments in cancer research and care.

It should be noted that this award is given annually to one of the leaders in cancer who have a significant impact in combating cancer globally, especially in low-income, developing countries.

This award recognizes Dr. Mansour’s outstanding contributions to the development of cancer patient care and scientific research on both the local and global levels, in addition to his leadership in expanding access to high-quality specialized treatment in the region.

During his leadership, Dr. Mansour has solidified the position of the King Hussein Cancer Center as a leading regional institution in providing comprehensive treatment for cancer patients. He has launched advanced treatments, obtained prestigious international accreditations, and established strategic partnerships with global medical institutions.

Dr. Mansour said: "This award is not only a personal honor but also a recognition of the efforts of my colleagues at the center who dedicate their work every day to combating cancer. It reflects our joint commitment to providing hope, compassion, and outstanding care to our patients and their families." It is worth noting that the Rachel Berlin Award is given annually to honor individuals who embody the late Dr. Berlin's legacy of empathy, justice, and the pursuit of improved cancer treatment outcomes globally. Previous recipients of this award include a select group of pioneering cancer-fighting doctors from the United States, Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
