Smart Patrol in Kuwait Recognizes Faces and Vehicle Plates

Khaberni - The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Kuwait, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, stressed the importance of harnessing modern technology to serve field security operations and enhance the efficiency of security personnel in performing their national duty. This was during his inspection today (Monday) of the new smart security patrol, which belongs to the HR and Information Technology sector, and which has been equipped with the latest technical systems to enhance the speed and accuracy of security procedures and improve field performance.

Keeping up with Development

The Ministry of Interior said in a press statement: “This comes within the framework of the ‘Interior's’ keenness to keep up with technological advances and support the digital transformation system in security work.”

It added that “Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef listened to a briefing from the head of the HR and Information Technology sector, Brigadier Anwar Al-Yetama, about the main components of the patrol and its smart systems, which were developed by national cadres specialized in information technology and cybersecurity fields.”

The statement explained that “the patrol includes a comprehensive system of modern technologies, including movable smart cameras connected to facial recognition systems and vehicle plates, and a mobile fingerprint device for immediate identity recognition, in addition to direct linking systems with the ministry's databases for quick recognition of wanted individuals and vehicles instantly.”

Accuracy of Procedures

It pointed out that the patrol also includes artificial intelligence systems for immediate image processing and analysis, which supports security personnel in the field and enhances the speed and accuracy of security measures.

Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef confirmed, according to the statement, the importance of harnessing modern technology for field security work and enhancing the efficiency of security personnel in performing their national duty, praising the efforts of the national cadres in developing this qualitative project, which represents an advanced step in the technical transformation pathway of the ministry.

The statement emphasized that the ‘Interior’ is continuing to develop the security system and employ the latest technologies to serve public security, which contributes to enhancing security and stability in the country.
