After the departure of Diane Keaton Al Pacino reveals the secret of his regret after the death of his great love

Khaberni - Close sources to the American star Al Pacino revealed his deep regret after the death of actress Diane Keaton, whom he described as the love of his life, after a long relationship that began in the mid-1970s and saw repeated separations until the early 1990s.

The story of Al Pacino and Diane Keaton began during the filming of "The Godfather" in 1972, and later became an official romantic relationship in 1974.

The relationship lasted for years, but it experienced periods of separation due to Pacino's refusal to commit to marriage, which led Keaton to end the relationship definitively after she lost hope in him taking a formal step.

According to a report by "page six", the star, Pacino, now 85 years old, feels a great void after the departure of Keaton at the age of 79 in California. A close source confirmed that the actor always described her as "a wonderful woman" and that he knew from the beginning that she was his true love, but time did not allow them to return.

The report indicated that Al Pacino lost the woman who represented "the love of his life," noting that he always repeated that it was not too late to mend the past, but her departure ended any chance for that.

Despite their living in the same area in Beverly Hills, the actor believed that they had said everything that needed to be said in the past, and there was no need to talk again, thus they never communicated during the past years.

In a 2017 interview with The Sunday Times, Diane Keaton said that they were not suited for marriage, and that it was better for each of them to separate, but she expressed her appreciation for the memories they shared.

For her part, Diane Keaton never married but adopted two children in her fifties, while Al Pacino fathered four children from different relationships, the latest a two-year-old child from producer Noor Alfalah.

Al Pacino participated in a tribute to Diane Keaton in 2017 at the AFI awards, where he addressed her with moving words describing her as "a great artist" and confirming his love for her.
