Haji Ahmed Kosa said he "is 91 years old and had hoped that his children would gather around him at this stage in his life, but instead, they left him alone, so he denied them the inheritance they had hoped to receive after his death."
He explained in statements to the local press that he "sold all his possessions to completely fund the construction of a mosque, and has so far spent about five million Turkish Lira on the first phase of the mosque's construction."
He noted that he "expects to spend an additional three million Lira before the final phase of construction is complete, which includes paving the exterior courtyard." Many comments supported the elderly father's stance, condemning the behavior of his children who "got what they deserved as a fair retribution," according to activists.
