Khaberni - Zainab Fayyad, daughter of Lebanese artist Haifa Wehbe, confirmed that the rumors circulating on social media about her engagement or marriage are baseless, emphasizing that she will take legal action against anyone promoting these rumors.
Fayyad posted a statement on her official Instagram account saying: "I categorically deny the rumors being circulated on social media, which have no relation to the truth regarding my marriage or engagement, and any site contributing to the spread of such lies about my personal life will be legally pursued."
Her statement came days after her name topped social media following the circulation of varied rumors. Some pages claimed her connection with Egyptian businessman Ahmed Abu Hashima, ex-husband of her mother Haifa Wehbe, while others mentioned a relationship with a Kuwaiti businessman, without any evidence supporting these allegations.
The controversy surrounding these news coincided with recent statements by Ahmed Abu Hashima during his appearance on a podcast program, where he commented on the rumors saying: "There are personal rumors one would laugh at like others, and some things I ignore, but some rumors must be addressed practically if they relate to work or livelihood.. and if someone spreads a rumor, no, we must respond, and some things I ignore."
Many followers interpreted his speech as a hint to the rumors linking him and Zainab Fayyad, which fueled their spread before the latter decisively clarified the issue, reaffirming her legal right to confront any infringement that affects her privacy or personal life.
