Khaberni - The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority issued an important statement on Monday regarding the sale of subsidized land in the city located in southern Jordan.
The authority reported in its statement that the Board of Commissioners discussed, during its session today, all aspects related to the project, including assessing the current conditions, studying the actual possibilities of the proposed sites, and estimating the financial costs necessary to organize the lands and prepare the infrastructure.
Accordingly, the board decided the following:
- To refund the financial amount paid by each applicant for the project amounting to twenty (20) dinars, in compliance with the principle of transparency.
- To assign both the Commissioner of Infrastructure and Urban Affairs, and the Commissioner of Economic Affairs and Investment, to complete the comprehensive integrated study of the project, to include:
• The expected financial costs for organizing the lands and infrastructure.
• The availability of infrastructure at the potential sites.
• The expected revenues from the project to be utilized in organizing the lands and infrastructure
• Presenting appropriate recommendations to the Board of Commissioners on the feasibility of implementing the project.
- To retain a database of previously submitted applications, to be used in the future.
The Board of Commissioners confirms that the land sale project, by virtue of its developmental and social importance, needs to complete a comprehensive study that considers the realistic possibilities and costs incurred by the authority, and ensures the achievement of justice, dignity, and credibility, serving the local community members and enhancing the goals of sustainable development in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone.
