A global report has shown that Jordan is the most committed Arab country to the rule of law, issued by the global Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) project.
Jordan, according to "Khaberni" monitoring, ranks first among Arab countries on the index, which measures the extent of government compliance with the law, the independence of courts, transparency, justice, the absence of corruption and bureaucracy.
Jordan achieved a score of 0.76 on the index, where the score of 1.0 is considered the highest on the index, achieved by Denmark.
The index gathers information on the extent of compliance with judiciary rulings and the Supreme Court, the independence of lower and higher courts, the executive authority's respect for the constitution, disciplined and neutral public administration, the transparency and enforceability of laws, access to justice, judicial accountability, judicial corruption, corruption in the public sector, and corruption within the executive authority.
The index is based on evaluations conducted by V-Dem project experts in each country.
In the Arab world, Kuwait came second on the index ranking, followed by Oman, Tunisia, Morocco, and Qatar, then Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq, Algeria, and Lebanon.
