Russian citizens often spend their holidays in Dubai, which accounts for 7.3% of bookings, followed by Istanbul (5.3%), and Shanghai (3.3%). This year, Minsk (2.9%) and Yerevan (2.5%) entered the top five rankings.
The popularity of Dubai has increased by 78% over the year, Yerevan by 19%, and Shanghai by 6%, according to OneTwoTrip travel booking company for the "Novosti" agency.
The results are based on an analysis of hotel booking data for groups of more than five people. It was found that these tourists often spend their holidays in groups of six people, and the demand for group trips is stable.
In Russia, Moscow was the most popular city for large group vacations this year, according to the agency.
Kazan entered the list of the top three most popular tourist destinations with a 4% share, with demand growing by 11%. The list also included the cities of Sochi at 3.9%, Adler (2.8%), and Nizhny Novgorod (2.2%), replacing Krasnodar, which had previously been very popular.
