Khaberni - Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa responded to a question from a CBS network presenter about American President Donald Trump's description of him as a handsome and tough person by saying, "Do you doubt that?"
Presidents Trump and Al-Sharaa met in Saudi Arabia in mid-May, and after this meeting, Trump praised Al-Sharaa and said he responded positively to proposals to join the "Abraham Accords" and also described him as "amazing, attractive young man, and strongly built."
Trump's statements came while on a plane headed to Qatar after leaving Saudi Arabia, where he had a meeting with Al-Sharaa amid international and regional interest, at a time when the United States is exploring the possibility of normalizing diplomatic relations with Syria.
Trump told reporters on board the American presidential plane that his meeting with Al-Sharaa went well, noting that he is a wonderful person, attractively youthful, strongly built, and has a powerful past.
Trump added that Al-Sharaa has a "real chance" to maintain Syria’s unity.
