Khaberni - The Ministry of Environment followed the news that was reported yesterday through various news websites and social media about the death of several fish in Al-Mujib Dam. The ministry started immediate follow-up actions in coordination with all relevant entities, including taking emergency water samples from the dam for laboratory tests at the Royal Scientific Society laboratories and Aqaba International laboratories.
Since yesterday until today, the ministry's staff have carried out extensive field tours that included all the entrances and exits of the dam and its surroundings, during which additional water samples were taken. The results of these tours indicated that the environmental situation in the dam is very normal, and no indicators or unnatural odors suggesting contamination were detected.
The ministry pointed out that a limited number of small dead fish were observed, and samples were collected from them for the necessary laboratory tests. The ministry confirmed that it will announce the results of the analyses as soon as they are available.
The Ministry of Environment affirmed its ongoing commitment to monitor the situation regularly and in coordination with relevant parties, to ensure the safety of the dam's ecosystem and to maintain water quality.
