Khaberni - In the context of Amman Arab University's endeavors to expand the horizons of cooperation with health sector institutions nationally and internationally, Professor Dr. Rana Abu Houeij, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, participated in the launch events of the Regional Center of Excellence for Pharmacists (FIP–EMRO Pharm CoE), organized by the Jordanian Pharmacists Association in partnership with UNESCO and the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), with the participation of deans of faculties of pharmacy in Jordan.
The meeting included an introduction to the (UNITWIN) program, which is a joint initiative between UNESCO and the International Pharmaceutical Federation, aimed at enhancing academic and professional cooperation, supporting student and research exchange, and knowledge sharing among pharmaceutical education institutions in the region. The role of the Regional Center of Excellence in elevating the level of pharmaceutical education, developing competencies, and enhancing scientific research in the field of modern pharmaceutical practice was also discussed.
During her participation, Dr. Abu Houeij signed a letter of intent as a representative of Amman Arab University, approving the joining of regional cooperation within the framework of the Center of Excellence. This enhances international academic and professional partnerships and ensures the exchange of students and expertise, promoting pharmaceutical innovation in the region, and contributes to the development of academic curricula and the qualification of pharmacy college graduates with high skills and competencies that not only meet local labor market needs but also enable them to lead and compete at the regional and international levels in the fields of healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.
It is worth mentioning that the participation of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University in such initiatives is part of its strategy aimed at developing academic programs in accordance with international standards of quality and excellence, and reflects the university's commitment to supporting continuous development in education, research, and community service. This distinguished participation also underscores the university's commitment to enhancing its international presence by joining global academic cooperation networks, supporting the development of educational programs according to the latest international standards, contributing to enhancing the university's reputation and the competitiveness of its graduates on regional and global levels.
