Hamas 1900 Palestinian prisoners to be released from Israel

Khaberni - The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas published early Monday morning a list containing more than 1900 Palestinian prisoners it says will be released as part of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

The release comes after the movement had earlier submitted a list of the names of twenty living hostages who will be released as part of the deal.

The International Committee of the Red Cross is expected to oversee the release operations.

The truce, which began on Friday noon (09:00 GMT), aims to end the bloodiest and most destructive war ever between Israel and Hamas.

In the first phase of the U.S. President's ceasefire plan in Gaza, the return of the prisoners to Israel will be accompanied by the release of 250 Palestinians and 1700 arrested by Israel in Gaza since the war began on October 7, 2023.

The Israeli authorities have indicated that not all bodies of deceased hostages may be handed over on Monday.

Badrsiyan confirmed that in this case, "an internationally agreed authority, as per the plan, will assist in locating the hostages (deceased) if they are not found and handed over".
