Khaberni - The official page of the Palestinian activist and journalist Saleh Al-Jafarawi posted the text of his will after his martyrdom was officially announced following his murder by internal militias in the Gaza Strip, followed by the text of the will:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, He who says: "Think not of those who are killed in the way of Allah as dead. Nay, they are alive, with their Lord, and they have provision."
I am Saleh.
I leave this will not as a farewell, but as a continuation of a path I chose with certainty.
God knows that I have exerted every effort and strength to be a support and voice for my people, I have lived the pain and oppression in every detail, and I have tasted the agony and loss of loved ones repeatedly, yet I never hesitated to convey the truth as it is, a truth that will remain an argument against everyone who hesitated and fell silent, and an honor for all those who supported and stood with the noblest of men and the dearest of people from Gaza.
If I am martyred, know that I have not disappeared...
I am now in paradise, with my companions who preceded me;
With Anas, and Ismail, and all the beloved ones who fulfilled their promise to Allah.
I advise you to remember me in your prayers, and to continue the journey after me.
Remember me with ongoing charity, and remember me whenever you hear the call to prayer or see the light piercing through the night of Gaza.
I advise you to continue the resistance...
on the path we have walked, and the approach we believed in.
For we knew no other path for ourselves, nor found any meaning to life except in steadfastness upon it.
I advise you with my father... my heart's beloved and my role model, who I saw myself in and he saw himself in me... who accompanied me during the war with all it encompassed. I pray to Allah that we meet in paradise and you are pleased with me, O crown of my head
I advise you with my brother and my mentor and companion on my journey, Naji,
Oh Naji... I preceded you to Allah before you were released from prison,
So know that this is a fate decreed by Allah,
and the longing for you resides within me,
I wished to see you, to embrace you, to meet you,
but Allah's promise is true, and our reunion in paradise is closer than you think.
I advise you with my mother...
Oh my mother, life without you is nothing.
You were the never-ending prayer and the undying wish.
I prayed to Allah for your healing and well-being,
and how much I dreamed that you would travel for treatment and return smiling.
I advise you with my brothers and sisters,
The satisfaction of Allah and then your satisfaction is my goal,
I pray to Allah to make you happy, and to make your lives as gentle as your tender hearts that I always tried to be a source of joy for.
I always said:
The word does not fall, nor does the image.
The word is a trust, and the image is a message,
Carry them to the world as we have carried them.
Do not think that my martyrdom is the end,
but it is the beginning of a long path towards freedom.
I am a messenger of a message I wanted to reach the world—to the world that closes its eyes, and to those who are silent about the truth.
And if you hear of my news, do not weep for me.
I have longed for this moment for a long time, and asked Allah to grant it to me.
Praise be to Allah who chose me for what I loved.
And to everyone who harmed me in my life through defamation, slander, lying, and false accusation, I say to you that I am departing to Allah as a martyr, by the will of Allah, and with Allah, the opponents will meet
I advise you with Palestine...
With Al-Aqsa Mosque...
It was my wish to reach its courtyard, to pray there, to touch its soil.
If I did not reach it in this life,
I pray to Allah to gather us all there in the gardens of eternity
Oh Allah, accept me among the martyrs, forgive my sins, past and future, and make my blood a light that illuminates the path of freedom for my people and family.
Forgive me if I fell short, and pray for my mercy and forgiveness, for I have kept the covenant, and have not altered or changed.
May peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.
Your brother, the martyr by the will of Allah
