Khaberni - Minister of Justice Bassam Talhouni stated on Sunday that Jordan has maintained its stability in its international ranking for combating human trafficking at Tier 2, according to the 2025 annual report recently issued by the U.S. Department of State, which categorizes countries into several levels.

Talhouni added in a press statement that the report praised Jordan's significant efforts through the National Committee for the Prevention of Human Trafficking in the field of combating human trafficking. The report states that Jordan has generally shown increased efforts compared to the previous reporting period, notably the issuance of the National Strategy for Combating Human Trafficking for the years (2024-2027), which was launched in November last year.

The report also lauded the efforts of the Ministry of Justice and partner entities in providing expenses for the voluntary return of victims of human trafficking through the Human Trafficking Victims Assistance Fund, and in providing greater care and assistance services to victims of human trafficking than in previous reporting periods.

It is worth noting that the report included some observations and recommendations for follow-up to improve the kingdom’s efforts in combating human trafficking.
