Khaberni - Maria Corina Machado, the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize winner, said that U.S. President Donald Trump deserves the award next year.
In an interview with "The Times," Machado explained that she believes Trump is deserving of the award, adding that many conflicts have been resolved or avoided during the past nine months, especially regarding the situation in the Middle East, indicating that the American president deserves to receive the award next year.
The Nobel Committee in Oslo announced on Friday that this year’s award was given to the Venezuelan opposition leader in recognition of her ongoing efforts to promote the democratic rights of the Venezuelan people.
Commenting on the committee's decision, a representative from the White House said that politics seems more important to the committee than peace itself.
Trump earlier mentioned that Machado had telephoned him and told him that he deserves the award, but he did not ask her to deliver him the medal.
