Khaberni - A four-year-old girl miraculously survived her fall from the 20th floor of a residential building, thanks to her neighbor who caught her just before she plummeted to her death.

On September 16 last year, Wu Youmi, a mother of two living in the Blingshuijiang building in Loudi, Hunan Province, central China, was preparing dinner when she suddenly heard a loud noise outside her window.

Wu went to the window and found a small girl, estimated to be about four years old, stuck at the canopy of the 13th floor.

Instinctively, Wu bent down and grabbed the girl's outstretched hands, holding them tightly while comforting her and calling her 16-year-old son to contact the police and the fire services. She whispered to the girl calmly, "Don't be scared, the police and firefighters will be here soon." Neighbors Zheng Jun and Guo Bo rushed to the 14th floor to assist, and they took over from Wu, carefully holding the terrified girl.

The firefighters and police arrived minutes later, and the rescuers broke the window of the corridor on the 14th floor to install a safety rope system. The team then pulled the little girl from the 13th-floor canopy and brought her into the building, completing the rescue operation.

Later, Wu told the "Hunan Daily Press," "I was so scared that I cried and screamed for help. I feared that my hands would sweat and I would lose control of myself. When the girl was finally rescued, my legs went weak and I fell to the ground. But I was extremely happy."

The girl's parents visited Wu the next day to thank her, offering her two meals. Wu explained, "The family said I gave their daughter a second life, and when she grows up and gets married, she will definitely invite me to attend the wedding." She added, "I am a mother of two. Rescuing the girl was instinctive. I was terrified at that moment, and I only hope that all parents watch their children closely."
