Khaberni - Khalil Hajj Tawfiq, the head of Amman and Jordan Chambers of Commerce and the honorary president of Basmet Hayat Charity Association, stated that the "Preserving Grace" project succeeded in saving more than a million gourmet meals from waste and distributed them to modest families in various regions.
The initiative, launched by volunteers since Ramadan 2022, aims to collect excess food from five-star hotels in a safe and clean manner, in cooperation with 6 hotels so far, and transported it in designated cars for distribution in partnership with charitable associations.
Hajj Tawfiq confirmed that this success is the fruit of cooperation between the hotels, supporters, and volunteers, and that the project will continue, God willing, to reach millions of other meals.
He explained that the food is collected from five-star hotels in a secure manner according to the specifications and standards of the Public Institution for Food and Drugs for distribution to discreet families.
