Food and Drug Administration Registration of 475 New Cosmetic Products

Khaberni - The specialized inspection and control staff at the General Food and Drug Administration executed a total of 108 field rounds on establishments dealing with medical supplies and cosmetic products during the month of September.

According to a press statement issued by the institution, the rounds resulted in a series of effective control measures in accordance with approved systems and instructions, implementing structured control programs to ensure the safety and quality of medical and cosmetic supplies.

The specialized technical staff in the Directorate of Medical Devices and Supplies completed 215 transactions for the registration and re-registration of medical supplies, in addition to completing 475 transactions for the registration of local and imported cosmetic products.

Regarding export and import, the institution’s staff processed 2517 import and export invoices for medical supplies and 1061 import and export invoices for cosmetic products and their raw materials.

In the field of laboratory examinations, the institution’s staff analyzed 177 local and imported registered medical supplies, in addition to pricing 6 medical supplies.

The General Manager of the institution, Professor Dr. Rana Obeidat, affirmed the ongoing efforts of the institution to enhance control and inspection operations on medical and cosmetic supplies facilities and to expand the implementation of control campaigns in the coming phase, using distinctive control mechanisms in cooperation with partner entities.
