Khaberni - The young Egyptian artist Amira Adib revealed that she went through a period of depression that made her consider quitting art, after a wave of harsh criticism of her songs.

During her appearance on the program "Billboard Arabia", Amira said that she suffered from severe depression due to the audience’s comments, explaining: "I felt that everyone was against me, and all I wanted was to sing, dance, and act, but the attack made me think of leaving the art entirely."

She added jokingly: "I said enough, I’ll retire and stay at home," noting that the comments were not limited to artistic criticism, but also affected her appearance and personal life, where she said: "People were telling me you are ugly and horrible and die! And that hurt me more than any artistic criticism."

She pointed out that today she is more mature in dealing with criticisms, saying: "What I understood is that it's impossible to please everyone, but I can learn from the artistic feedback and improve myself."

Amira recently released a new song titled "Ahmed" on September 19th, which is the second song of her short album in collaboration with "Warner Music MENA," after the success of her first song "Tasbira" last August.

The song discusses a personal experience that Amira went through when she was about to give up, but she chose music as a way to express and recover.

Amira Adib also participated in the series "Aisha Al-Dawr" which was shown in the second half of Ramadan 2025 on ON channel, written and directed by Ahmed Al-Gendy, starring Donia Samir Ghanem, Mohamed Tharwat, Mohamed Kilany, and Sama Ibrahim.
