Khaberni - With the start of the 72-hour deadline for the prisoner swap as set by the ceasefire agreement that officially took effect yesterday afternoon, Israeli sources confirmed that the transfer of Palestinian prisoners has begun.
An Israeli source said today, Saturday, that the relevant authorities have started transferring the Palestinian prisoners who will be released from Israeli prisons, as reported by "Yedioth Ahronoth".
It also added that Hamas has begun "preparing the living Israeli hostages" for delivery on the coming Monday.
Delivery of the bodies
While the delivery of the bodies is expected to take some time, according to estimates by leaders in Hamas, although Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly assured over the past few days that "the hostages, both living and dead," will return together.
This comes after the Israeli government approved the agreement with Hamas for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and the withdrawal of Israeli forces according to the agreed lines.
The 72-hour deadline set within President Donald Trump's Gaza plan then commenced, for the delivery of Israeli prisoners in exchange for Palestinian prisoners.
It is expected that Hamas will release the twenty living Israelis within 72 hours, after which Israel will release 250 Palestinians serving long sentences in Israeli prisons, in addition to 1700 others arrested from Gaza during the war.
