Khaberni - Israeli forces arrested 5 Syrians during their incursion into Saida al-Hanout town in rural Quneitra province, south of the country.
The Syrian news agency (SANA) reported that a patrol of Israeli occupation forces penetrated the area with 3 vehicles this afternoon and arrested 5 citizens of Saida al-Hanout, two of whom are shepherds and three are farmers.
Israeli forces also penetrated yesterday morning into the towns of Samdaniya al-Gharbiya and Rafid in rural southern Quneitra, according to the same source.
Since the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime on December 8, 2024, Israel has been violating Syria's sovereignty by bombing and expanding its occupation territory in the south, although the new administration has shown no aggressive intentions towards Tel Aviv.
Israel has also conducted air strikes on Syrian areas in recent months, including the capital Damascus.
It is noted that Israel has occupied most of the Syrian Golan Heights since 1967 and took advantage of the new situation after the fall of Assad’s regime, occupied the Syrian buffer zone, and declared the collapse of the 1974 disengagement agreement between both sides.
