Khaberni - The village of Kafr Shunwan in Monufia witnessed a painful tragedy after the death of 3 sibling children who suffocated inside the bathroom due to a heater gas leak during their bath.
A tragic accident in the village of Kafr Shunwan, belonging to the center of Shebin el-Kom, Monufia governorate, resulted in the death of 3 sibling children who suffocated in the bathroom due to a gas heater leak while they were bathing in the bathtub.
Major General Alaa El-Din El-Jaher, the security director of Monufia, received a notification from Colonel Mohamed El Maghrabi, head of the Shebin el-Kom center investigations, reporting that a complaint was received from Shebin el-Kom University Hospital about the arrival of 3 bodies of sibling children aged between 5 and 10 years, who were found to have died due to gas suffocation.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the children were bathing inside the bathroom when gas leaked from the heater, leading to a drop in oxygen levels inside the space and their subsequent suffocation, with no one able to rescue them in time.
The bodies were transferred to the morgue at Shebin el-Kom University Hospital, and a report was filed on the incident, while the public prosecution began investigations to determine the causes of the accident and verify its circumstances.
