Khaberni - His Majesty King Abdullah II, during a phone call with the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, today, Friday, emphasized the need to intensify international efforts for humanitarian response in Gaza following the agreement of ceasefire.
His Majesty emphasized the importance of adhering to all stages of the deal reached with the efforts of the United States, and the brothers in Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, pointing out the necessity to build upon it to achieve a comprehensive calm in the region.
His Majesty warned of the dangers of the continuation of unilateral measures against Palestinians in the West Bank, and the attacks on Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
In this context, His Majesty appreciated the recent decision by the Executive Board of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), which concerns preserving the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its walls.
