Khaberni - In his first comment on the agreement that was signed, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas "Abu Mazen" welcomed the ceasefire and the release of the prisoners.

In an exclusive interview with the Hebrew "Channel 12", the President emphasized that he has already started implementing the reforms he committed to, in coordination with the United States. This came after the agreement that once the Palestinian Authority commits to Trump's reforms, it would take control of Gaza.

Abu Mazen said: "I would like to state clearly and explicitly, we have launched a reform that also includes the salaries of the prisoners, and this was done in coordination with the United States and with its approval. As for all the other reforms in education, economy, health, and security, all of them have been implemented."

He added that "part of the reforms has already been implemented, and we must continue to work on the other reforms and implement them until we reach a situation where the Palestinian Authority is a model to be emulated and an established authority able to continue leading the Palestinian people."

Abu Mazen mentioned that "what happened today, and this event, represents a historical moment. We were hoping and still hope to stop the bloodshed occurring in our region, in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem. We are very happy today with the cessation of bloodshed and we hope to continue on this path and that peace, security, and stability will prevail between us and Israel."

President Abbas expressed his gratitude to Trump for "the efforts he made", confirming that "the recognition of the Palestinian state aims to advance the peace process."
