India Students drink from a water tank with a decomposing body inside

Khaberni - A shocking incident occurred at a medical university in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, India, after a decomposing body was discovered inside a water tank on the fifth floor, which had been used by students and employees for ten days before the discovery.

According to the website "India Today," the incident began when some individuals noticed a foul smell emanating from the water, prompting the cleaning crew to inspect the tank and find the body, which was highly decomposed and unrecognizable.

The body was removed in the presence of the police at night and was sent to the forensic department for necessary examination, while it was found that the water containing the body had been distributed to outpatient buildings and patient departments during that period.

Upon discovering the incident, Deva Mittal, the District Commissioner of Deoria, was appointed to supervise the investigation, and Dr. Rajesh Kumar Barnwal, the university director, was temporarily dismissed, while Dr. Rajni, Head of the Anatomy Department at Etah Medical University, assumed the duties of the acting director.

A morning inspection tour revealed that the water tank, which should have been locked, was open, causing a wave of dissatisfaction on social media after the spread of a video showing the district commissioner questioning the director about the negligence.

The authorities made an urgent decision to immediately close the tank and provide alternative water supplies through temporary tanks.

An investigation committee consisting of five members headed by the Head of Development was formed, with instructions to provide a detailed report within two days to determine the responsibilities for the negligence and to ensure such incidents are not repeated in the future.
