Khaberni - The Jordan Kuwait Bank has renewed its sponsorship for the "Heritage Award" for the second consecutive year, which was held at the Odeon Theatre in downtown on Monday, October 6, 2025, under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Dana Firas, president of the Petra National Trust board, with support from the European Union mission in Jordan and His Excellency Mr. Saeed Samih Darwazeh.
This award, which was launched for the first time in 2024, is a prominent national annual event that aims to honor individuals, initiatives, and institutions for their contributions to the conservation of cultural, archaeological, and environmental heritage in the Kingdom, and to raise awareness about the importance of Jordanian heritage and the necessity of its protection, while encouraging innovative and sustainable practices that preserve both tangible and intangible heritage, and enhancing public appreciation of this national legacy by honoring outstanding examples in this field.
In this context, the CEO of the Jordan Kuwait Bank, Haitham Al-Batikhi, said: "The renewal of sponsorship and support for the Heritage Award for the second consecutive year is a confirmation of our deep belief in the importance of preserving Jordan’s cultural and civilizational treasures. Heritage is an integral part of our national identity, and preserving it is a responsibility towards future generations."
Al-Batikhi explained that the comprehensiveness of the themes of this year's award and its focus on the impact of climate change on heritage represents a direction that reflects advanced awareness of the importance of protecting heritage sites with innovative and sustainable methods, and encourages excellence in heritage and cultural practices.
