Khaberni - Jordan today welcomed the agreement on a ceasefire in Gaza and the agreement on mechanisms for implementing the first phase, which will lead to ending the war and implementing the agreement on exchange and Israeli troop withdrawal from the sector and admitting humanitarian aid.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, appreciated the considerable efforts made by the Arab Republic of Egypt, the State of Qatar, and the United States to reach this agreement. Safadi also thanked the Republic of Turkey for its efforts and emphasized the importance of commitment to and implementation of the agreement’s full terms to end the war and address the catastrophic consequences caused by the aggression.
Safadi also emphasized Jordan's appreciation of U.S. President Donald Trump's efforts and his crucial role in achieving the agreement, his proposal to end the war, rebuilding Gaza, preventing the displacement of the Palestinian people, advancing the comprehensive peace process, and his declaration that he will not allow the annexation of the West Bank.
Safadi stressed the need for concerted efforts to admit sufficient and immediate humanitarian aid to end the famine facing the sector. He confirmed Jordan's ongoing humanitarian role in introducing aid into Gaza, in cooperation with siblings, the international community, United Nations organizations, and the Kingdom's readiness to resume the introduction of aid into Gaza as soon as Israel removes the restrictions on this, ensuring safe delivery of aid according to international law and international humanitarian law.
Safadi emphasized that Jordan will continue to work with siblings and partners to achieve just and comprehensive peace, which involves ending the occupation and embodying an independent, sovereign Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative as its only path.
