Ahmed Fahmy wanted to break his leg Hisham Maged tells the story behind a disagreement with Moataz El Tony

Khaberni - The artist Hisham Maged recalls memories from the movie “Samir, Shahir, and Bahir,” revealing the details of Ahmed Fahmy's conflict with director Moataz El Tony, and secrets of writing the work and his personal fears.

Hisham Maged disclosed during his appearance on the show "One Two One," details of the disagreement that arose between artist Ahmed Fahmy and director Moataz El Tony during the preparation for the movie "Samir, Shahir, and Bahir," saying: “Ahmed Fahmy argued with director Moataz El Tony over something in the script they disagreed on, and at that time I was in Sharm el-Sheikh, Fahmy came to Khaberni about Moataz, and Moataz called me to Khaberni about Fahmy.”

Maged added with a laugh: “Fahmy told me, 'I’m not going down to shoot, I’ll break my leg right now and take me to the hospital to get a certificate!' Obviously, it was a very naive solution because if Fahmy broke his leg, Moataz wouldn’t lose anything, but we would lose the film, and in the end, I managed to reconcile them.”

Hisham Maged recounted the backstage of writing the movie saying: “Initially, we were going to make the film with the producer Ahmed El Sobky, but there was a disagreement, so we then moved to Mr. Wael Abdallah and Mohamed Hefzy, and we wrote the movie very quickly, in fact, ‘Samir and Shahir and Bahir’ is the fastest movie we ever wrote in our lives."

Maged also spoke about his acting beginnings saying: “Ever since I was young I always used to stand in front of the mirror and act, and my father and mother would mock me, but when I grew up I kept doing it, I always when I pass by in the house I look in the mirror to make sure that I look good and that my clothing is fine, and honestly, I like the mirrors that make me look slim."

Hisham Maged recalled movies that impacted him in his childhood, explaining: “I used to be scared of the movie 'Sunstroke', especially from the performance of actress Laila Fawzi, who was very terrifying in the movie although she presented beautiful works afterwards.”

Maged revealed one of his personal fears saying: “I always have a phobia of time and I don’t like incapacity or hospitals at all, and I hope when I reach that stage I would have presented works that continue to please the audience.”

The artist Maged denied being spoiled, explaining that his younger brother is the most pampered within the family, but he emphasized that it never reached a point of recklessness, adding: “Everyone in the family knew their responsibilities very well.”

Hisham Maged spoke about his great passion for football revealing an unfulfilled wish in his life, he said: “I wished I could have become a professional football player, and I was very close to that dream, but I left football because of university, and if time went back, I would choose to be a football player not an actor.”

Regarding his football allegiance, he clarified: “I am a fan of Zamalek because of a certain match, that match made me really love Zamalek, and I believe if Al Ahly had won the match I would have been an Ahlawy.”

Hisham Maged concluded his talk by referring to the impact of cartoon shows since his childhood saying: “'Tom and Jerry' cartoons influenced me a lot, maybe because it relies more on situational comedy than dialogue, and that's the type of comedy I like to present without even realizing it.”
