Khaberni - An Axios reporter cited officials from different parties involved in the Sharm el-Sheikh negotiations about Gaza, noting that the discussions are witnessing substantial progress, amidst cautious optimism about the possibility of reaching an agreement soon.

A senior Israeli official told the Axios reporter on Wednesday that there is "progress" in the negotiations, adding that "the general feeling is one of cautious optimism."

On his part, a well-informed non-Israeli source mentioned that Qatari mediators believe it is possible to reach an agreement by Friday, explaining that the aim is to announce the agreement this week, and start the process of releasing hostages next week.

In the same context, a White House official said that the talks are achieving "good progress," noting the possibility of reaching an agreement within days.

Meanwhile, the Turkish Foreign Minister confirmed that the negotiations are progressing, suggesting the possibility of announcing a ceasefire on Wednesday, while Israeli officials expressed doubts about this timeline.
