Khaberni - Minister of Agriculture, Saeb Khresat, stated that there is a clear balance between the quantities of livestock exported and those consumed locally, ensuring stability in meat prices in the Jordanian market.
Khresat said in his statements to the "Al-Mamlaka" TV channel, that about 900,000 heads of sheep were exported to Saudi Arabia during the past period, explaining that 4 out of 11 facilities continued operating in the export of livestock, after a settlement with the Saudi side was reached to regularize the situation of Jordanian facilities and reopen them fully.
The Minister pointed out that an agreement was reached on a special technical protocol that regulates the process of exporting livestock, and the Jordanian facilities were placed on the Saudi "Enmaya" platform to resume export operations according to the agreed protocol.
Khresat emphasized that there is no fear of the impact of exports on local prices, as the ministry continuously monitors the markets and will immediately stop export operations in case of any shortage of sheep meat within the kingdom.
He also called on the owners of the facilities to fully comply with the technical and health instructions and the approved protocol, which ensures the continuity of exports and enhances confidence in the Jordanian animal product in foreign markets.
