Khaberni - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs continues to monitor the situation of the two Jordanian citizens who were on board the Conscience Ship, part of the Freedom Flotilla heading to Gaza, which was intercepted by Israel this morning in international waters. The ministry affirmed that it holds Israel responsible for their safety and warns against exposing them to any harm.
The ministry's spokesperson, Fouad Al-Majali, confirmed that the ministry, through its Operations Directorate and Consular Affairs, and the embassy in Tel Aviv, is taking all necessary measures and communications to ensure the safety of the citizens, respect for their rights, and securing their departure.
Al-Majali also stated that the ministry would provide any possible and necessary assistance to evacuate nationals of brotherly and friendly countries who approach the ministry with requests in this regard.
Al-Majali condemned the attack on the fleet; a violation of international law, a threat to freedom of navigation, and endangering the lives of civilians.
Al-Majali emphasized the need for the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities and to compel Israel to respect its obligations under international law and international humanitarian law, and to remove all restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza to counter the exceptional disaster caused by the Israeli aggression on the sector.
