Expansion of the Royal Road in Madaba over 4 km is nearing completion

Khaberni - The expansion works of the Royal Road in Madaba from the American University signal to the university triangle, spanning four kilometers, are nearing completion, to achieve the highest levels of safety.
Madaba Governorate's Director of Public Works, Engineer Abdulnasser Al-Kalbani, told the Jordanian News Agency (Petra) that the Royal Road expansion was done with an average width of 5 meters, making the total width of the road 15.5 meters, under the supervision and full execution by the Madaba Public Works Directorate staff.
He added that the expansion works included the removal of obstacles like trees, cables, telecommunication poles, water lines, and electricity poles, and relocating some light poles that obstructed the expansion, followed by excavation works to reach the foundation layer and three-layer backfilling.
He pointed out that the MC adhesive layer was sprayed and a drainage line for rainwater was implemented, and work is ongoing to complete the paving of the expansion with hot asphalt mix, so the road width will meet the highest safety standards for road users.
He clarified that the paving works will be fully completed by tomorrow, Thursday.
It is noteworthy that the Royal Road, which connects Madaba to Dhiban, witnessed a number of accidents that resulted in several fatalities, which increased the demand for the road's expansion to be two-way and achieve traffic safety on it.
