Qatari American and Turkish Delegations Join Sharm ElSheikh Talks on Trumps Plan to End Gaza War

Khaberni - Delegations from Qatar, the United States, and Turkey will join new discussions on Wednesday regarding President American Donald Trump's plan to end the war in Gaza, which includes 20 points, two days after indirect talks between Hamas and Israel.

The talks began on Monday in Sharm El-Sheikh following Hamas's agreement to release detainees in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners as part of the plan.

Trump's envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Sharm El-Sheikh on Wednesday morning, according to the website "Axios".

Scheduled to join the talks on Wednesday are the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and his special envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, and the head of Turkish Intelligence, Ibrahim Kalin.

Indirect talks that lasted 4 hours between the delegations of Hamas and Israel began in Sharm El-Sheikh, on Monday, October 6, 2025. The indirect talks continued on Tuesday in a "positive" manner, according to two informed sources.

The discussions focused on "mechanisms for the handover of living and deceased Israeli detainees, in return for Palestinian prisoners in the prisons of the occupation, maps of Israeli withdrawal, and introducing aid at the start of the ceasefire, and handing over the management of the sector to an independent Palestinian competencies committee," but Hamas also demanded clarifications of the mechanisms and procedures necessary to execute the Trump plan and guarantees against a return of Israeli aggression on Gaza.

The American president’s plan to end the war in Gaza includes a clause stating that "once all detainees are released, Israel will release 250 prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment, plus 1700 Palestinians from Gaza detained after October 7, 2023, including all detained women and children in this context. For every Israeli detainee returned, Israel will release the remains of 15 Palestinians."

The talks follow Hamas's agreement to release all detainees in the sector in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners.

A leader of Hamas movement had said that the movement’s delegation in Egypt is striving to overcome all obstacles to achieve a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip that meets the aspirations of the Palestinian people, adding that it dealt with high responsibility regarding the ceasefire proposals in Gaza, including the last one, Trump’s plan.

Trump said that once an agreement is reached to end the war in Gaza, "we will do everything in our power to ensure everyone's commitment to it."

Trump had published a 20-point plan on Monday, September 29, 2025, to end the war in Gaza, still requiring the approval of the concerned parties, and specifically stipulates him chairing the committee overseeing the transitional phase in the sector.
