Khaberni - The US Central Command announced that it carried out a strike in Syria on the second of September this month, which resulted in the killing of one described as a senior planner of attacks in the Al-Qaeda organization.
The Central Command said in a statement published late Tuesday evening that the deceased was Muhammad Abdul Wahhab Al-Ahmad, and added that he was a member of the Ansar al-Islam group associated with Al-Qaeda.
Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of the US Central Command, said that US forces in the Middle East are working to disrupt and defeat the efforts of those he described as terrorists in planning, organizing, and executing attacks.
Cooper added that his forces will continue to defend the United States and its allies and partners in the region and beyond.
From time to time, the US-led international coalition targets leaders in the Islamic State and Al-Qaeda organizations in Syria.
