Khaberni - The University of Jordan, Jordan University of Science and Technology, and the German Jordanian University have officially withdrawn from the "Times" world university rankings, citing concerns about the calculation methods and application of the ranking criteria, a move similar to what many global and regional universities recently announced, such as the American University of Beirut and Sorbonne University in France, along with a group of American and European universities.

This decision reflects the universities' concerns about the continuous changes in the "Times" ranking methodology and practices that affect the integrity and fairness of the ranking process. These concerns also arise from "Times" introducing a subscription-based system for participating in the sustainability ranking, which the universities see as creating a barrier to a fair and transparent evaluation of universities' contribution to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. They consider that the current framework of this ranking does not align with their commitment to genuine and transparent representation of performance.
