Khaberni - Russian President's aide Yuri Ushakov announced that Russia has extended an invitation to the leaders of 22 countries and the Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit to participate in the first Russian-Arab summit in Moscow.
Ushakov told reporters, "I believe the list of participants will be finally clear by Monday or Tuesday. Anyway, we have invited the leaders of all 22 countries and of course, the Secretary-General of the Arab League."
The first Russian-Arab summit will be held in Moscow on October 15, and representatives from Arab countries in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as East African countries that are members of the Arab League, are expected to participate.
This summit marks the culmination of the significant progress in Russian-Arab relations, which have advanced at various political, economic, and cultural levels in recent years.
The summit is expected to discuss a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest, along with examining ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of economics, trade, investment, security, and energy.
