Khaberni - The Petra Regional Touristic Developmental Authority in the Petra district, started demolition works this evening after the mosque suffered structural damage due to a landslide resulting from construction activities for a private project within the adjacent plot, following approval from the Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Places.
According to the authority's statement, demolition was carried out by a specialized contractor according to an approved demolition plan from the Jordan Engineers Association and the Jordan Contractors Association, based on approval from the Ministry of Awqaf, the owner of the building, following a recommendation from the Ministry of Public Works and Housing and the Jordan National Building Council.
