Khaberni - Egypt began discussing, on Tuesday, the lists of Palestinian prisoners slated for release from Israeli prisons according to the exchange agreement proposed in U.S. President Donald Trump's plan to end the war in Gaza, as reported by Cairo News from sources.
Cairo News stated that the lists of prisoners that Hamas demands be released include prisoners "Marwan Barghouti, Ahmad Sa'adat, Hassan Salameh, Abbas Al-Sayed, and others."
The American president's plan to end the war in Gaza includes a clause stating that "once all detainees are released, Israel will release 250 prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment, in addition to 1,700 Palestinians from Gaza arrested after October 7, 2023, including all women and children detained in that context. For every Israeli detainee returned, Israel will release the remains of 15 Palestinians."
Cairo News added that Hamas confirmed its readiness to hand over all live detainees and remains, noting that the movement is demanding clarification of the mechanisms and procedures necessary to implement Trump's plan and guarantees against a return to Israeli aggression on Gaza.
It confirmed that Egypt is intensifying efforts with various parties to reach a clear agreement, and to define the mechanisms and procedures required to implement Trump's plan.
It reported the continuous arrival of delegations from Qatar, Turkey, and the United States to the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh to participate in meetings specializing in implementing Trump's plan to stop the war in the Gaza Strip.
