Newspaper identifies a serious reason for cancer increase by 85 times

Khaberni - Dr. Sandra Cavalokas, a specialist in rectal and anal diseases surgery, stated that the presence of blood in the stool is a very likely indicator of cancer.

The doctor mentioned this in an interview with the Daily Mirror, noting that the risk of cancer increases by 8.5 times, regardless of age, in patients who report the presence of blood in their stool.

According to her, if the patient is 35 years old and suffering from rectal pain, he may not even need a colonoscopy. However, if he complains of bleeding, the likelihood of being diagnosed with colon and rectal cancer is high.

The doctor added that cancer is not the only reason for the presence of blood in the stool. She urged a colonoscopy to definitively determine the source of the bleeding.

In September 2025, media reports indicated that Russia announced a new promising vaccine against colon and rectal cancer called "EnteroMix," which showed high effectiveness in initial human trials and the ability to reduce tumors without serious side effects. Russian cancer centers are leading in developing innovative techniques for cancer treatment, including targeted therapy that directly targets cancer cells.
