Khaberni - Syrian President Ahmed Al-Shara stated that Jordan has never fallen short in its support for Syria in all sectors.
He added: "His Majesty the King also stood by our side, as did the Foreign Minister and all Jordanians. This was stated during the Jordanian delegation's meeting headed by the member of the Commissioners Council of the Independent Election Commission, Jihad Al-Momani, with President Al-Shara on the sidelines of the President's visit to the Damascus voting center for the Syrian People's Council elections, which are taking place for the first time since the fall of the Assad regime."
The Damascus center elections witnessed widespread turnout from delegates of electoral compounds in the Syrian capital.
President Al-Shara gave a welcoming speech in which he considered these elections to represent a historic moment for all Syrians and that they mark the beginning towards broader elections.
Al-Momani presented the Independent Election Commission's shield to President Al-Shara, expressing the Commission's readiness to provide all the support needed by the High Election Committee in Syria. In a brief speech in front of the election committee and attendees of voters and candidates, Al-Momani expressed his gratitude for the invitation received by the Commission from the High Election Committee in brotherly Syria and wished the committee success in managing and supervising the elections for the first time under an experimental electoral system in preparation for establishing a new law that paves the way for the Syrian Republic towards a bright future.
